In the 17th century, Sri Raja Vasireddy Jagga Bhoopala was ruling Krishna region, with “Amaravathi” Town as his Capital. In his kingdom, was borne Sri Tirupatamma, in the family of “Kolla” as a gift of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamyvaru of Tirumala in ‘Anigandlapadu’ village. From her childhood, she is “Eka santhagrahi” and learned Puranas, Vedas, Ramanayana and Mahabharata and other epics. She used to give sermons about them to the neighbours, Villegers. In the rule of Sri Krishna Devaraya to the Vijayanagaram Kingdom his Guru Sri Vyasarayaluvaru went on tour to attain religious austerities. While he was on tour, he stayed at Village called “Silpagiri” now called as “Chippagiri” Lord Sri Anjaneya Swamy appeared before Sri Vyasaraya in his dream and advised him to consecrate his idol at place, where the dried Margosa stick will emerge as live tree. Accordingly, Sri Vyasarayalu Varu made prathista of Sri Anjaneya Swamy idol (Swayambhu)at a place called Nettikallu where he saw the dried margosa stick emerged as a live tree and have the deity is called “Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy”. In good olden days a Yaksha named ‘KEELA’ had been performing awful penance about holiest goddess Durga. Goddess Durga was pleased by his penance and appeared to him. She asked him to beg a boon. Keela was so happy by the words of goddess Durga and begged like this, “O holy Mother! you should always be in my heart. This is the one and only my desire”. Listened goddess Durga and gave the boon with showering the lunar lights of smile and said, “My Son! You remain here at this holiest planes of river Krishna in the form of mountain.
